HOW I BEGAN TO CHANNEL

Channel: any means of passage; a course through which something moves or is transmitted, conveyed, expressed, etc; the proper or official course of transmission of communications; the process by which a person becomes a conduit for a deceased person, as someone from an ancient culture who imparts information about a previous life.

Reconnective Healing requires me to be a healing conduit for the Divine. I don’t actually do anything but I certainly set aside my ego and allow the energy to come into complete focus and go to work for my clients.

I suppose then that I shouldn’t be totally surprised that I started channeling recently as well...

...except that I was surprised, and a slew of other words besides.

I remember years ago seeing JZ Knight on TV channeling Ramtha. I thought I’d practically dislocate my eyeballs from all the rolling around they were doing. I wondered, “Who in their right mind would actually believe this was anything other than B.S.?”

Clearly, I didn’t know what the heck I was talkin’ about.

In September of 2006, I suddenly started channeling myself. Yup, I began communing with the other side and now it’s a regular part of my life. What I’m finding, as I ease into this new ability, is that I quite enjoy the experience and it isn’t weird at all. I feel connected to a great many angels, guides, spirits, entities, teachers (choose your word) and I know that I am so far from alone.

Shortly after I was reconnected in September of 2005, I went to my first Reconnective Healing conference in Sedona, Arizona. There were several wonderfully inspiring speakers there but the one who most caught my attention was Lee Carroll. He has been channeling a group entity called Kryon for a couple decades, and the man is anything but a new age type. He was so funny, self-effacing and down to Earth as he told his story of how this happened to him that I couldn’t help but be charmed.

I attended a live Kryon channeling with Lee after the conference ended. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was open. There were a lot of people in the audience and from what I saw afterwards, everyone was profoundly moved. That was the first time I felt my mother’s presence since she died in 1989. My friend sitting next to me also felt her mother’s spirit come in during the channeling. At the end of the session, we looked at each other with eyes the size of saucers and then burst into laughter! On the way back to the hotel, there were four of us in the car and no one said a thing. Four women...speechless!

Since that day, I have been reading the Kryon books and learning much more, but I still wasn’t prepared for the experience to happen to me. And right after it did, I listened to an online channeling where Kryon talked about exactly that phenomenon—that we would begin channeling our higher selves.

This ability is developing in fascinating ways. I have communicated with several family members who have died and it’s been enormously comforting. I've been able to share this ability to connect with deceased loved ones with my clients as well. Everyone I've made contact with on the other side is at peace, I’m happy to say.

What’s most astounding is that I seem to have the ability to channel a limitless number of spiritual guides. So many great souls have spoken to me and offered guidance for my life and how I might contribute to planetary healing. They help me feel that I can step through any fear of being ridiculed, laughed at, doubted or branded something evil. The experience is of such a blessed nature that it's difficult to find words to convey the full effect. What I experience most is a feeling of being loved, valued, protected, and honored. And it feels like family.

I didn’t see this coming...
