THE AKASHIC RECORDS

The Akashic Records are a spiritual resource for empowerment and conscious development.

I think of the Records as a storehouse of information about each and every individual on the planet, accessible to us all and of great help in assisting us to be here as consciously and as fully-informed as possible, so that we may experience ease and joy in our daily lives.

Practical questions having to do with day-to-day challenges can bring you great satisfaction because reading the Records is meant to provide useful information. Topics for consideration might include your relationships, health, money concerns, work and creative expression, family of origin questions, your contribution in the world, and other similar questions about ordinary life.

While some people work in their Records strictly for their personal growth and development, others use their Records to support artistic endeavors such as photography, pottery, painting, writing, and composing. Businesspeople use the Records for help in managing their companies and careers, and parents use the Records for guidance and support in parenting. (Linda Howe, p.12, How to Read the Akashic Records)

Check out these YouTube clips featuring Linda Howe that offer more insight. In addition, hear a discussion Linda Howe and I had on Tom Murasso's "Myth or Logic" Radio on March 3, 2010.

WHAT TO ASK THE RECORDS

There are so many scenarios that come up in the realm of human experience, but perhaps these examples will help you consider what questions you might want to ask:

1. I'm in a relationship with a man and it's going nowhere. I really had hoped to be married at this point in my life and to have a family, but it doesn't look like it's in the cards for me. Would it be wise for me to break up with him and try to meet someone soon who really wants what I want? Are there men out there who are ready to commit to family? And why do I keep meeting the "same man," relationship after relationship, leaving me always dissatisfied and alone? Is there anything in the Records that can help me understand this pattern and clear it for good?

2. I'm in business for myself and it's going really well as far as having work that matters to me and feeling inspired by what I do. But I'm barely making it financially and it's scary to have nothing to fall back on. Am I kidding myself about this business? Would it make more sense to go back to the regular working world while I'm establishing myself, even though I really don't want to do that? Is there some way to look into the Records of the business itself to see if it has something to teach me, to help it be more supportive? And in my own Records, is there some way I'm unconsciously thwarting my own success? Or is this some holdover from the relationship I had to my own father, who barely supported us as when he worked as a salesman? How can I move forward and succeed at the work I love to do? What things could I try that are different than what I've done to now?

3. I've been married to my wife for 25 years. We've had three wonderful children and while two of them are off on their own, the third one is struggling to leave the nest. My wife doesn't want push our son as hard as I do, to stand on his own two feet. It's gotten to the point where we're fighting with each other and have such strong disagreement about what to do, that I feel alienated in my marriage for the first time ever. I wonder if it's only been the kids that have held us together through the years, and if there's anything to sustain us past that? My wife has always lived for the kids and I've lived for my job. Without the kids in the home, will we even want to be together anymore? There's so little passion in our marriage that I sometimes think about leaving. I wonder if she's thinking the same thing? What do my Records show about my role in all of this? How can I find peace with the situation my son is in, trust my wife, and know that it will all work out in the end? How can I be a better father and husband, and how can I create more connection with my wife and son?

4. My cat, Leo, is listless and uninterested. He looks depressed and barely eats. This behavior is pretty new (in the last month or so) and can't be explained by anything the vet has looked into. I feel like he's trying to tell me what's wrong, but I just don't understand. Would you look into my cat's Records and see if he can help me know how best to support him? What is he trying to say to me?

5. I can't seem to let go of my grief around the death of my father. We were very close, and for years I took care of him as he aged, which I was glad to do. Now that he's gone, I feel my life has lost its purpose and without either of my parents alive, I'm not sure where I belong. How can I truly let go of my father, resolve my grief, and move on with life? If this is how we all end up anyhow, what's to keep me motivated?

No questions are off limits. This is you, asking about you, getting information and guidance from those who know you as your wholly integrated Soul Self.

If you have something challenging you and you're ready to look at it and be guided to a place of peace, the answers are in your Records. Nothing will come up that you're not ready for, and the information and energy will be loving, honoring and healing. Most importantly, you'll get practical, grounded information that you can use right away.

READING FOR OTHERS

When I access the Records during a reading, I see (in my mind's eye) a virtual warehouse of file cabinets filled with information about us all, and one has your name on it. Unlike channeling, my voice doesn't change and my hands don't move about and I feel the energy quite differently in my body. It's enjoyable and expansive with a healing quality, to be sure, but the information comes through at a faster rate, is much more visual, and I don't feel like I'm speaking some entity's higher wisdom. I'm merely looking things up in your file and telling you what I see.

YOUR SESSION

In advance of your Akashic Record reading, prepare a list of questions that you'd like to have answered. Keep them as open-ended as possible as opposed to simple yes/no questions. This can be easier when you start with words like how, what, why, etc.

Sessions typically last around 45-50 minutes. A digital recording of the reading is included and will be emailed to your afterward. It's very helpful to go back and listen a few days after the initial reading.

NEXT STEPS

A certified practitioner of the Akashic Records, throughout 2010 I'm training as a teacher of the Records under the tutelage of Linda Howe.

Upon graduation in December 2010, I'll be listed as a "certified teacher" on the website of the Center for Akashic Studies. At that point, I'll begin traveling across the country to teach others to work in the Records and to become certified practitioners themselves.

If you're interested in hosting a class in your hometown, please contact me directly.

CENTER FOR AKASHIC STUDIES

The ability to read the Akashic Records can be learned by anyone. I chose to work with the teachings of Linda Howe and have found her suggestions to be effective, easy, and flexible. To quote Linda directly, here are the top ten things to know about the Akashic Records:

1. The Akashic Records contain the vibrational records of each individual soul and its journey.

2. Everyone is in the Akashic Records. Yes, everyone.

3. There are two parts to each person's file: the blueprint of your soul never changes. The story of your journey through time as a human being changes to reflect your growth in consciousness.

4. Every person is entitled to access their own Akashic Records.

5. “Akasha" is a Sanskrit word, and means primary substance, that out of which all things are formed.

6. The Akashic Record exists everywhere in its wholeness and is completely available in all places.

7. Accessing the Record can be extremely valuable. Your soul's very essence and expression, potentials, and purposes can be seen. Ways in which you can actually manifest your Divine Potential are available.

8. Being in the Akashic Records involves the transmission of energy first, information second.

9. The purpose of accessing the Akashic Records is to dignify each person and situation.

10. The Akashic Record is a profound spiritual resource accessible through a simple sacred prayer that will enable you to develop your own spiritual authority.
