AUSTIN, TEXAS
CENTRAL TEXAS TREASURE
Our city motto is "Keep Austin Weird," so you know you're in a place that has a sense of the absurd, not to mention a sense of humor. While many people who have never been to Texas imagine that Austin will be like what they've seen in the movies (wide, flat expanses of empty, dusty land filled with tumbling tumbleweeds!), they're usually quite surprised when they arrive. What you'll experience are rolling green hills carpeted with springtime wildflowers; an abundance of water and places to play in it; a "live and let live" warmth and hospitality among Austinites; incredible, affordable (even free) live music every day of the week; restaurants to rival any major metropolitan city (including the best barbecue in the land); and Texas pride for our beloved burg.

Another of our mottos is "Keep Texas Beautiful," so by all means come for a visit, but leave things as you found them (or better). Did I mention our Texas pride? It really does extend to how we feel about litterin' (git a rope!). The points of interest on this page are just a smattering of what Austin and the Central Texas region have to offer. Y'all come!
